How to Delete Photo Albums on iPad
Managing and organizing your photos is essential for keeping your iPad organized and clutter-free. Deleting photo albums is one way to declutter your Photos app and remove unwanted or duplicate content.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps on how to delete photo albums on your iPad, whether you want to remove them permanently or just hide them from view.
Permanently Deleting Photo Albums
- Open the Photos app on your iPad.
- Tap the Albums tab at the bottom.
- Locate the photo album you want to delete.
- Tap on the album to open it.
- Tap the Select button in the top-right corner.
- Select all the photos in the album by tapping on the Select All button.
- Tap the Delete button in the bottom-right corner.
- Confirm the deletion by tapping Delete Album.
Hiding Photo Albums
If you don’t want to permanently delete a photo album, you can hide it instead.
- Open the Photos app on your iPad.
- Tap the Albums tab at the bottom.
- Locate the photo album you want to hide.
- Tap and hold on the album until a menu appears.
- Select Hide from the menu.
Hidden albums will no longer appear in the Albums tab or in your Moments view. You can unhide albums by following the steps above and selecting Unhide from the menu.
Additional Tips
* To delete multiple albums at once, tap on the Select button in the top-right corner of the Albums tab and select the albums you want to delete. Tap the Delete button to remove them all at once.
* To permanently delete all photos and videos in an album, follow the steps above and tap Delete Album instead of Delete Photos.
* If you accidentally delete an album, you can recover it from the Recently Deleted album. The album will be available for recovery for 30 days after deletion.
