When Does the Gold Cup Start?

The Gold Cup is the most important international soccer tournament in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. It is held every two years, and the next edition will take place in 2023.

Start Date

The 2023 Gold Cup will start on June 26, 2023.

Format

The Gold Cup is played in a group stage followed by a knockout stage. The group stage consists of four groups of four teams, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage.

The knockout stage consists of a quarterfinal round, a semifinal round, and a final round.

Teams

A total of 16 teams will participate in the 2023 Gold Cup. The teams will be divided into four groups as follows:

  • Group A: Mexico, Jamaica, Suriname, Guyana
  • Group B: United States, Canada, Martinique, Haiti
  • Group C: Costa Rica, Panama, Guadeloupe, Trinidad and Tobago
  • Group D: Honduras, El Salvador, Curacao, Qatar

Qatar has been invited to participate as a guest team.

The 2023 Gold Cup will be played in the following cities:

  • Houston, Texas
  • Kansas City, Missouri
  • Los Angeles, California
  • Nashville, Tennessee
