How to Reset Samsung Smart TV
If your Samsung Smart TV is not working properly, a reset may be the solution. There are two main types of resets you can perform: a soft reset and a hard reset.
Soft Reset
A soft reset is a simple way to restart your TV and clear any minor glitches. To perform a soft reset, follow these steps:
- Unplug your TV from the power outlet.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Plug your TV back into the power outlet.
- Turn on your TV.
Hard Reset
A hard reset will restore your TV to its factory default settings. This is a more drastic solution than a soft reset, but it may be necessary if your TV is not responding or is experiencing major problems.
To perform a hard reset, follow these steps:
- Press the Menu button on your remote control.
- Select the Support tab.
- Select Self Diagnosis.
- Select Reset.
- Enter your PIN (the default PIN is 0000).
- Select OK.
Your TV will now reset to its factory default settings. This process may take several minutes.
Additional Tips
- If you are unable to access the Settings menu on your TV, you can perform a hard reset by pressing and holding the Power and Volume Down buttons on your remote control for 5 seconds.
- A hard reset will erase all of the data on your TV, including your apps, settings, and saved content. Be sure to back up any important data before performing a hard reset.
- If you are still having problems with your TV after performing a reset, you may need to contact Samsung customer support.
