How to Install a Distributor on a Chevy 350
Materials Needed
- New distributor
- Distributor cap and rotor
- Spark plug wires
- Wrench set
- Screwdriver
- Timing light
Step 1: Remove the Old Distributor
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Unplug the electrical connector from the distributor.
- Remove the distributor cap and rotor.
- Use a wrench to loosen the distributor hold-down bolt.
- Gently pull the distributor straight up and out of the engine.

Step 2: Install the New Distributor

- Tighten the distributor hold-down bolt to secure the distributor in place.
