If you’re selling your home or have recently purchased a home with a Trane HVAC system, you may be wondering how to transfer the Trane warranty. The good news is that transferring a Trane warranty is a relatively simple process.
Who Can Transfer a Trane Warranty?
- The original owner of the Trane HVAC system
- The new owner of the home with the Trane HVAC system
What You’ll Need
- The original Trane warranty
- The Trane warranty transfer form
- Proof of ownership of the home (if you’re the new owner)
- A copy of the closing statement (if you’re the new owner)
Steps to Transfer a Trane Warranty
- Contact Trane. You can contact Trane by phone at 1-800-872-6391 or by email at warranty@trane.com.
- Request a Trane warranty transfer form. Trane will send you a warranty transfer form that you’ll need to complete and return.
- Complete the Trane warranty transfer form. The warranty transfer form will ask for information about the original owner, the new owner, and the Trane HVAC system.
- Return the Trane warranty transfer form. You can return the warranty transfer form to Trane by mail or by email.
- Pay the transfer fee (if applicable). There is a $45 transfer fee for Trane warranties.
- Trane warranties are transferable only once.
- Trane warranties are not prorated. This means that the new owner will receive the full remaining term of the warranty.
- Trane warranties are only valid for the original owner and the new owner of the home.
Once you have completed these steps, the Trane warranty will be transferred to the new owner of the home.
