How Do I Make Oblivion Windowed

How to Make Oblivion Windowed

Oblivion is a great game, but it can be annoying when it’s running in fullscreen mode and taking over your entire screen.
If you want to be able to see your desktop or other windows while you’re playing, you can make Oblivion windowed.

Method 1: Using the in-game settings

  1. Start Oblivion and go to the Options menu.
  2. Select the Display tab.
  3. Under the Window Mode dropdown menu, select Windowed.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.

Method 2: Using the Oblivion.ini file

  1. Open the Oblivion.ini file. This file is located in the following directory:
    • Windows: C:\Users\[your username]\Documents\My Games\Oblivion
    • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Oblivion
    • Linux: ~/.wine/drive_c/users/[your username]/My Documents/My Games/Oblivion
  2. Find the following line in the file:
  3. iSize W=800, H=600

  4. Change the values after W= and H= to the desired window size. For example, to make the window 1024×768, you would change the line to:
  5. iSize W=1024, H=768

  6. Save the file and close it.

Oblivion should now be running in windowed mode. You can now resize the window to any size you want.
