How to Start Isle of Armor

Introduction

The Isle of Armor is the first expansion for Pokémon Sword and Shield. It adds a new area to explore, new Pokémon to catch, and new challenges to overcome. To start the Isle of Armor expansion, you will need to:

Have a copy of Pokémon Sword or Shield
Have an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription

Downloading the Isle of Armor Expansion

To download the Isle of Armor expansion, follow these steps:

From the Nintendo Switch Home Menu, select the Pokémon Sword or Shield icon.
Press the “+” button on the right Joy-Con.
Select “Software Information” from the menu that appears.
Scroll down to the “Add-On Content” section and select “Isle of Armor.”

Starting the Isle of Armor Expansion

Once the Isle of Armor expansion is downloaded, you can start playing it by following these steps:

From the Pokémon Sword or Shield title screen, select “Continue” to load your save file.
After your game has loaded, you will be prompted to visit the Isle of Armor. Select “Yes.”
