How to Pay Indiana State Taxes
Paying your Indiana state taxes is an important obligation. There are several different ways to pay your taxes, including online, by mail, and in person.
Online
The easiest way to pay your Indiana state taxes is online. You can pay using a credit card, debit card, or electronic check.
- Go to the Indiana Department of Revenue website.
- Click on the “Pay My Taxes” link.
- Enter your Social Security number and tax year.
- Follow the instructions to complete your payment.
You can also pay your Indiana state taxes by mail. To do this, you will need to complete a Form IT-40 and mail it to the Indiana Department of Revenue.
- Download the Form IT-40 from the Indiana Department of Revenue website.
- Complete the form and sign it.
- Mail the form to the following address:

In Person
You can also pay your Indiana state taxes in person at any of the Indiana Department of Revenue’s regional offices.

When you pay your taxes in person, you will need to bring the following:
- Your Social Security number
- Your checkbook or credit card
- A completed Form IT-40 (if you are paying by mail)
