How to Get Rid of Facing Pages in InDesign
When you’re creating a document in Adobe InDesign, you can choose to have facing pages or single pages. Facing pages are two pages that are side-by-side, like in a book or magazine. Single pages are just one page at a time.
If you want to remove the facing pages from your document, there are a few different ways to do it.
## Method 1: Use the Document Setup Dialog Box
1. Go to the **File** menu and choose **Document Setup**.
2. In the **Page Size** section, select **Width** and **Height** values that are equal to the desired single page size.
3. Uncheck the **Facing Pages** option.
4. Click **OK**.
## Method 2: Use the Page Tool
1. Select the **Page Tool** from the Tools panel.
2. Click on the page you want to remove the facing page from.
3. Go to the **Pages** panel and click on the **Delete** button (X) next to the page you want to remove.
## Method 3: Use the Selection Tool
1. Select the **Selection Tool** from the Tools panel.
2. Click and drag to select the facing page you want to remove.
3. Press the **Delete** key on your keyboard.
## Troubleshooting
* If you’re having trouble deleting a facing page, it may be because another page is dependent on it. In this case, you will need to delete those dependent pages first.
* To see which pages are dependent on a facing page, select the page and go to the **Pages** panel. The dependent pages will be highlighted in light gray.
## Best Practices
* It’s generally best to use facing pages for documents that will be printed and bound.
* If you’re not sure whether or not to use facing pages, it’s always better to err on the side of caution and choose single pages.
