How to Make an Anvil in Minecraft
An anvil is a useful tool in Minecraft, used for repairing and renaming items. It can also be used to combine two items of the same type into a single item with the combined durability of the two original items.
Materials Required
- 3 Iron Blocks
- 4 Iron Ingots
Crafting Recipe
1. Place the 3 Iron Blocks in a horizontal row at the top of the crafting grid.
2. Place the 4 Iron Ingots in a vertical row in the middle of the crafting grid, below the Iron Blocks.
3. The anvil will appear in the output slot.
Using an Anvil
To use an anvil, place it on the ground and right-click on it. This will open the anvil interface.
The anvil interface has two slots: one for the item to be repaired or renamed, and one for the material to be used for the repair or renaming.
To repair an item, place the item in the first slot and the material to be used for the repair in the second slot. The anvil will then display the cost of the repair. The cost of the repair is determined by the durability of the item being repaired and the material being used for the repair.
To rename an item, place the item in the first slot and enter the new name in the text field below the second slot. The anvil will then display the cost of the renaming. The cost of the renaming is 1 experience level.
Tips
* An anvil can only be used to repair items that are made of the same material. For example, an Iron Anvil can only be used to repair Iron items.
* The material used for the repair or renaming does not need to be the same type of material as the item being repaired or renamed. For example, an Iron Anvil can be used to repair a Diamond Sword.
* An anvil can be used to combine two items of the same type into a single item with the combined durability of the two original items. For example, two Iron Swords can be combined into a single Iron Sword with double the durability.
* An anvil can be damaged by being used too often. The durability of an anvil is determined by the material it is made of. For example, an Iron Anvil has a durability of 256.
* An anvil can be repaired by placing it on an anvil and using a material of the same type as the anvil.
